A Celebration of Ordination was held during the January 24 church service as Sunset Spiritualist Church welcomed our newest Minister, Reverend Cynthia Killion, into her service of Ordained Ministry. It is with thanksgiving and gratitude that we welcome Rev. Cynthia to this calling! To all who attended the Ordination Celebration, in person as well as in thought and spirit, we thank you for your part in making this event meaningful and memorable! |

| Winter Weather |
|
We are in class and church every Sunday morning, and urge you to join us! Just keep an eye on the weather and if road or weather conditions are questionable, call before you head our way. The past couple of years we have had to cancel Sunday services a few times due to the threat of ice and snow, including this past December 13 when conditions seemed OK elsewhere, but Wells had received 10 inches of snow and the church driveways and grounds were drifted shut (and LeRoy's tractor wouldn't start when he attempted to blade it off!). Call Linda 620-727-4329, or any Board member to check the status of Sunday morning services.

Dear Friends,
The February meeting of the Board of Trustees will follow a pot luck lunch on the seventh. Once again the Board will be brought up to speed on the progress of the Camp commitee. It may seem early since Camp is still a ways off, but in just two months we will have published the Camp Book. If you are interested in taking part with the planning of Camp 2010, I encourage you to attend the meeting.
The Kansas weather coorperated and Cynthia Killion was ordained on January 24th. It was a lovely ceremony. The Board wishes to thank Rev. Evadne Tuxhorn for presiding over the ordination. Rev Killion, thank you for choosing to accept the responsibility of your ministry as a minister of the First Society of State Spiritualists, Wells, Ottawa County, Kansas. It is an honor to the Board of Trustees and to the Church. Welcome.
In other business, I expect we will hear more from our Maintenance Commitee concerning some Spring project to spruce up the Camp in anticipation of Camp 2010. The Board is also investigating an outreach organization in Ottawa County made up of local churches. We will discuss the organization. It has been suggested that Sunset Church might be interested in joining.
I've been approached by several of you who apparently have cases of cabin fever concerning Spring workshops. So far we don't have any planned, but this topic will also be on the agenda. This is a decision to be made by the Board. And after all, we do have a bath house to build. I will see if we can still get a workshop and Camp put together at the same time.
One can hardly think of February without thinking Valentines Day. There are many great love stories that span the ages, but none of these is more precious to me than the story of the love you have shown to me. I cherish your love. Know too, that I love you. Happy Valentines Day.  |

Rev. Evadne Tuxhorn's weekly Development Circle continues on Wednesday evenings at her home in Salina. Please call Evadne to reserve your spot in this group, and to check for weather or other possible cancellations. Her new phone number is 785-826-1633. You may also contact Rev. Tuxhorn regarding your interest in evening or weekend classes in Sacred Geometry, Beginning Psychic Development, and other courses of study that she offers. |
| February 20- Spiritual Psychic Development Class with Cynthia Killion |
Cynthia Killion's monthly "Spiritual Psychic Development" class has resumed! The January class enjoyed a large group eager to get going again on our development path. Please contact Cynthia to register for this class. The February class begins the second 5-month session of Cynthia's curriculum. During the winter months it is especially important to pre-register so that we can contact everyone if the weather should cause a cancellation. Cabins are available for those who are able to stay for Sunday services, but come prepared with space heaters and warm clothing!
