Dear Friend,
The April meeting of the Board of Trustees will be convened after a pot luck lunch following services on Sunday, April 1st. Unless something unforseen prevents us, the Camp flyer will be prepared for posting by volunteers at some point after lunch or the Board meeting. We'll play that by ear. Due to the work and time involved in preparing and printing the Camp "book", the Board is trying something a little different this year. We have downsized the book into a flyer. The information is a bit condensed, but I believe it will be adaquate. Be sure you weigh in on your impression and opinion of the new look. Let the Board know your thoughts. As I said, we're trying this format.
The trees have been trimmed and the ones that could not be saved have been removed. An early Spring means early yard work. The grounds look great and the grass is coming in. Ron and LeRoy spent an entire day on the flower beds last week getting them cleaned out and ready for Spring planting. Gordon, your roses look very good already. I think you will be very pleased when you see them. Thank you once again for your generous contribution of these plants and the tender care you gave to them, especially that first year to ensure they would thrive.
The new trash container has been delivered and sure enough it is an ugly old dumpster. l realize it may seem odd that I would want to discuss a trash container in the newsletter, but it is part of being a family after all. We create trash. The new dumpster has a lid. We know that it is only plastic and will be blown open by the wind. The Board would like to ask everyone to help keep the lids in place. When you take trash out, just take a moment to make sure the lid is in place. The trash container is one of the first things we see when we arrive and we would like to keep the trash in the container, not blown all around on the ground.
I have saved this for last. The Board of Trustees has installed internet. That's right, Sunset Church has stepped into the 20th Century. We'll worry about the 21st Century later. Not only is there internet at the Camp, there is wireless access. We have not tested the range, but our carrier has predicted that all of the cabins will be able to access the signal. I know that this will not only be a convenience for campers, it will aid our presenters and teachers who depend on the internet for new information and videos available over the web. You have been asking for it and now you've got it. Enjoy. I also encourage you to seek out a member of the Board and give us feedback. We don't always know how things are working if you don't let us know.
It is time for the Easter Conference. Rev. Rebecca Watson will host the weekend of April 7th. If you have not made your reservations, you need to do so now while there are still cabins available. If you don't get your cabin reserved in time, we still have the church building and the book store, a nook here and a crannie there. Rev. Watson is presenting this workshop for a free will donation to the Church. Linda has informed me that there has been a good response and some are traveling from out of state including three of the presenters. Come on out and join us.
Rev. Evadne Tuxhorn kicked off our Spring season last month with "The Flower of Life" workshop. It was a great start to an exciting line up of classes. Thank you Rev. Tuxhorn for your dedication to teaching and sharing your years of study with us all. Rev. Tuxhorn is on the Camp schedule to do some related/follow-up teaching as well. Check out the schedule and catch Evadne at Camp.
The third Saturday in April and May Rev. Cynthia Killion will present the Spiritual Psychic Development class. These two classes will fulfill Cynthia's three year commitment to the Board of Trustees. Has it really been three years? Cynthia will be making an announcement soon concerning further development for those who are interested and we will keep you posted here as well.
Rev. Charles Cox continues his work in the Denver area through the Denver Psychic Development Group. You can find Charles and his group on facebook for those in the Denver area interested in studying with Charles.
On a personal note, I want to thank you all for your continual prayers. Prayer sets our intention and our focus. Prayer uttered from a place of love is so powerful that it defies logic and understanding. It is a result of prayer that folks are healed, folks move seamlessly into other dimensions of existence, the Church/Camp is protected, the Board of Trustees makes good decisions, and our love and understanding for each other grows. Jim Haynes calls you "Prayer Warriors", so great is your power. So thank you, and keep up the good work. WE ARE BLESSED beyond anything our imaginations could conjure up on their own. Life is good and I'm glad you are in mine.
