The August meeting of the Board of Trustees is an annual membership meeting.  The meeting will be called to order following pot luck dinner after services on the 5th.  The election of Officers and selection of three Trustees will take place at this meeting. 
  

At the July meeting, the Board approved funds needed to complete the improvements to the old auditorium building. Along this same theme, Trustees accepted a $6000.00 donation from Leo and Javene Whitley to be used to purchase and finish a new cabin.  Thank you Leo.  I hope you will remember to thank Leo as well.
  

Concerning this project, Ron told me that the work would not be done in 100 degree temperatures.  I acknowledged that I understood.  Well, Ron, LeRoy, Leo have begun the framing under the supervision (according to my understanding) of Rev. Jean Dorsey.  I think Erik helped to take out the old doors and windows.  I don't know what time the guys are starting work to beat the heat, but I think it must be before the worm (as in early bird gets the early worm).  Since the meeting, Ron has reported that the framing is far enough along that the new doors and windows have been ordered.  I don't know when those guys sleep!
  

As those attending the July meeting were discussing Camp, what worked, what needs change, it was the consensus that the Camp needs to have the ability to process debit and credit cards.  Ron Glasgow, Treasurer, anticipated this issue would be raised.  Ron had already contacted our bank for information.  The bank responded in writing.  The bank will loan the Church the equipment needed to process bank cards at no charge.  The equipment will operate on the existing phone line.
  

August 11 Sunset Church will host a Psychic/Vendor Fair.  We had a lot of fun with this fair last year.  The ads are written and the flyers printed and out.  Thank you Linda for donating the printing, the flyers look good.  The Board has done their part, so lets all help to get the word out and come join in the fun. 
  

September 8 Rev. Charles Cox is coming home to host a workshop.  Charles will also be available for private readings.  Charles is not only a gifted medium, but a gifted speaker.  No matter what level you perceive yourself to be at spiritually, Charles will have something for everyone.  You will be blessed for just being with Charles, that's my prediction.   
  

September 22, 23 Betty Russell will host a weekend seminar on iridology.  Betty will teach the ins and outs so that we can use this science to help our friends and family on a path to better health.  The cost of the class is $150.00 and includes books and all other class material as well as meals.  Cabins will be available for those with a desire or need for one.  Contact Betty 785-309-9215 or stop by her store, Natural Connections in Salina, to reserve your spot in the class and perhaps get a better deal!  Contact Linda to reserve a cabin.
   

October is still reserved for the third session of DNA Activation presented by Kevin Phillips.  You won't want to miss out on this workshop!  As promised, Kevin is preparing an extensive handbook as well as a meditation aid. It is not too early to mark your calenders for this important workshop.  This information, I believe is a step to becoming a "Light Worker".  
   

I'm sitting here at my computer wondering what I could possibly say that matters.  We all know that I am an administrator, not a spiritual leader.  I have concluded that my suspicions are correct.  I can only hope to change the opinions of those whose minds are open.  I can only encourage those whose hearts are open.  The one thing I can do is open my mind and heart to you.  And so I pledge to try to do so and to love you according to the measure of love freely given to me through the Spirit of Truth.  That love is infinite and resides within us all.   I believe.
