Chair Lift Project
I know the Lord and Angels will bless all of us for “Never giving up” on the installation of the chairlift. The adults and children with special needs will benefit from this project for years to come. “So say you” join us for a cup of coffee or pot luck dinner. It just couldn’t be better. Amen. Ron and LeRoy
The dedication of the addition and chairlift will take place on Sunday, May 17th with Rev. Gloria Ochs presiding. Lunch and desert will follow. Everyone is invited to this joy filled occasion.See the pictures by clicking here
Keeping Up With the Board – from President Karen Lyons
The Board of Trustees have been working on Camp 2009. The plans are coming together and as usual we anticipate a good Camp season. After all, Camp is the highlight of our year when all of the work comes together.
We are offering the opportunity to anyone who would like to make a donation toward the publication of the Camp Book to be listed in the Book as a sponsor. Just send your check in any amount to the Church ASAP to take advantage of this opportunity. This year the Camp Book will be posted first on the web site. We will still publish the Book and those without an email address on file will receive the Book in the mail as usual. The Camp Book will also be available in the Camp Office and in the church building. We’ll see how this works out. I’m still old enough and set in my ways enough to want a book in my hand. Books will also be available upon request for those who are like me…old and set in our ways.
In getting the Grounds and buildings ready for Camp, Ron and LeRoy will prepare a list of work to be done and leave it on the table in the back of the Church. Anyone who has an opportunity to come out and do a little work may check off jobs from the list. Donations of paper items will also be needed for Camp. Those donations may be brought to the Church anytime and include paper towels, toilet paper, napkins, paper plates, bowls and cups. Everyone can help with Camp and everyone’s help is needed to make Camp, Camp.
Spring weather has been more like winter weather this year. The weekend we had to cancel the last workshop I had eighteen inches of snow at my house and there was about six inches of snow at Wells. All of the Spring workshops will be held after Camp. We will have more information available during Camp concerning these workshops as well as others. I’m not saying there won’t be any snow in July because after all this is still in Kansas, but I don’t think we’ll have eighteen inches! I realize that you live at a distance and it just isn’t possible, but still I wish that you could see the grounds in person. Marge Glasgow works quietly when noone else is there, when only the fairies will see. Every Sunday morning there is a new bloom, new life, new beauty. Marge donates all the plants, bulbs, and ornaments which result is this beauty. More importantly, Marge donates her labor, artistic ability, and love. One cannot look upon the fruit of Marge’s labor without feeling her love and feeling loved. Next time you are on the grounds, go to one of the gardens and get a big dose of love from Marge. It will bring a smile to your face and warmth to your heart. Thank you Marge.
The Build A Bath House campaign continues. You may donate to this or any other project by visiting our donation webpage, click here.
