OCTOBER CAMP CANCELED
The Board of Trustees has voted to regretfully cancel our October Camp due to concerns for the safety of our guests. We are working to come up with some type of virtual event. Camp shirts have not been ordered so pre-ordered shirts are now canceled. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience of canceling plans and want you to know that we, too, are disappointed.
Prayer Requests
All prayer requests are shared with the congregation each Sunday morning at Sunset Church. When requested, they are forwarded via e-mail as well. If you have a prayer concern, please call any Board member or e-mail prayers@sunsetcamp.org
If you have e-mail and are not getting the Newsletter online, contact Linda 620-727-4329, or llundberg300@gmail.com . If you have e-mail but are still getting the hard copy in the mail and would be willing to be taken off of the snail mail list, please let Linda know about this also.
KEEPING UP WITH THE BOARD
by President Karen Lyons
The Board of Trustees made the difficult decision to once again, cancel a Camp Season. No one is more disappointed than I. On October 3, 2021 the annual membership meeting to install the elected Board of Trustees will be at 10:00 AM. We will discuss Camp 2022. My suggestion is we keep trying until it comes to pass. As always, all members are welcome to attend and participate in this discussion.
November 3, 2021 will mark the 30th anniversary of the ordination of Rev. Charles Cox. On this date, it is Rev Cox’ intention to retire and transition to a less active role. At the conclusion of services on 3 October, there will be a reception honoring Rev. Cox in the dining room. A light lunch and cake will be served. I encourage everyone who is able to attend. If you would like a cabin, please contact Linda.
We continue to maintain the property. You are welcome to visit anytime. In fact, call ahead and we’ll leave the light on for you. You are always welcome to come home. I miss you.
I continue to believe that the energy which indwells me is greater than that energy found in the world. All is well in my world.
Thank you for 30 years of service and bless you on your new adventures.
Karen can I ask that my husband be put on a continuous prayer list? He was diagnosed with a rare cancer called plasmablastic lymphoma which only had 10 people for the study that they could find. He is going for 6 aggressive treatments at KU where we stay for 5 days at a time and then home for 2 weeks. There a lot more but that’s a start. Thanks in advance. And hope all is well with all of you. Miss you all.
