MEMORIES OF CAMP 2007

Once again, we are in our yearly “post-Camp” mode – filled up with the blessings of having spent two weeks with like-minded people, renewing old friendships and making new ones, and marveling at the spiritual growth and loving energies we’ve experienced. We are so grateful for everyone who contributed to making Camp 2007 a success, and, as always, we are already eagerly anticipating Camp 2008!!

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER….

Please forgive us for not putting out a July Newsletter. Getting back to our “Other Life” (i.e., day jobs) after the reprieve of Camp was somehow more challenging this year. Suggestions are welcome for any ideas on how we could all just live at Camp……

Annual Election of Trustees

Per the Constitution adopted on October 1, 2006, annual election of Trustees will take place on the first Sunday of August. Sunset Church members of at least one year are eligible to vote in this election.

Keeping Up With the Board – from President Karen Lyons

Camp was the topic of the July Board meeting. The Board rehashed what was done well and what needs a bit better planning next year. Camp was good. The Board also caught up on a few bills that needed attention. Now we’re ready to start planning the next event. Several offers for workshops have been suggested and plans are in the making. The Board has decreed that the grounds be used more often this year after a long year of renovations and disuse. I for one am happy to oblige. Keep your eye on the newsletter for upcoming events.

I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that the cabins are available anytime you are able to come. There is no formal charge for the use of cabins on weekends though the Board does ask that you make an offering to help with utilities. We know that for some of you to attend Sunday services, it is much more convenient if you can spend the night. We are glad to have you now that the cabins are ready and waiting.

The next meeting will be the first Sunday in August. This meeting will be a membership meeting for the purpose of the election of Board Officers by the members of Sunset Church. I encourage all members to begin praying that the Spirit will direct this election. I also encourage you to seek direction concerning what role you wish to play. I can tell you that being a member of the Board is hard work and requires dedication. Board members must be willing to work to bring their decisions to fruition.

Thank you for making Camp a success. Thank you for your support of the Board of Trustees. You continue to be generous and thanks to your generosity, the third new cabin will be finished this fall. 

Healing Work or Private Counseling available after any Sunday Church Service by an attending Minister.

Prayer Requests
All prayer requests are shared with the congregation on each Sunday morning at Sunset Church. The request is added to a prayer list and is remembered each week until the issue is resolved. Prayer requests received via e-mail are forwarded to the e-mail list as well

Please pray for one another, that we may all be lifted up.
