I just wanted to thank the Church for allowing me to give the Sunday presentation on February 5, 2006. I can’t begin to tell all of you of how wonderful that entire experience was for me. I also want to thank the Angels, Others, and Spirit Guides who gathered close to me and led me in speaking. It was a wondrous experience and I am still “beaming” from it. I wish many blessings on those who were so supportive that day in the class and in church. What a special family you all are to me and special thanks to Gary Nicholson for leading the Healing Circle, among other things.

Thought for the day: As income tax time approaches, did you ever notice:
When you put the two words “The” and “IRS” together it spells “THEIRS”?

Two Wolves
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a debate that goes on inside people. He said, “My son, the battle is between 2 “wolves” inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

Ponderisms

I used to eat a lot of natural foods until I learned that most people die of natural causes.

Gardening Rule: When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

The easiest way to find something lost around the house is to buy a replacement.

Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

There are two kinds of pedestrians: the quick and the dead.

Life is sexually transmitted.

Health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die.

The only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth.

Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but you still can’t help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.

Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.

Have you noticed since everyone has a camcorder these days no one talks about seeing UFOs like they used to?

Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again.

All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

In the 60’s, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.

Politics is supposed to be the second oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire, but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, “I think I’ll squeeze these dangly things here, and drink whatever comes out?”

Why is there a light in the fridge and not in the freezer?

If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares, why is there a song about him?

Why do people point to their wrist when asking for the time, but don’t point to their crotch when they ask where the bathroom is?

Why does your OB-GYN leave the room when you get undressed if they are going to look up there anyway?

Why does Goofy stand erect while Pluto remains on all fours? They’re both dogs!

The Trinity Concept – from A Spiritualists View of the Bible Study Book

This doctrine in Christian thinking is the recognition or acceptance of three separate entities in the God-figure. These represent God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit or Ghost. It is generally understood that the three of them, equal in power, yet separate are the one everlasting God.

Spiritualism also recognizes a trinity. However, it is quite different from the concept that has just been mentioned. Spiritualism understands the trinity of mind (spirit), etheric (spiritual) body, and physical body.

An understanding of this nature has a firm basis in reality. It relates directly back to teachings that Spiritaulism has presented to those who are interested. Spiritualism understands that Mind is universal and the universe is made up of mind, etheric substance and physical matter. A logical, well-informed idea of the trinity then emerges as man realizes that he is a part of the trinity – that he is the trinity of God and nature.

Keeping Up With the Board – from President Karen Lyons

A lot of hard work has been going on behind the scenes as Patti, Linda, and Debbie have been organizing Camp 2006. The plan is to have the Camp schedule set and published in time for the Homecoming Weekend featuring Ted Andrews. I know we are all looking forward expectantly to the revelation of changes for this year and activities that are familiar and fun. One of the changes I am aware of is the decision to ask the Ministers who serve Sunset Church to serve the Camp as Ministers on the grounds. We encourage our Ministers to contact Patti, Linda, or Debbie and advise them of classes you are willing to teach and services you are willing to provide, if you have not already done so.

Ministers who do not serve Sunset Church are reminded their annual report will be due soon. We invite you to serve at Camp as well and encourage you to contact one of the Camp Committee. We look forward to seeing you at Camp regardless of your decision concerning participation.

Rev. Evadne Tuxhorn and her little helpers are putting the finishing touches on the Homecoming Weekend featuring Ted Andrews. Norma tells me we are running out of cabins. If you wish to stay on the grounds during the Homecoming Weekend, you better hurry. I have not heard Ted Andrews before and am very excited for this opportunity. If you wish to attend all or part of the weekend events, but are a bit short on cash, please contact Patti or me.

Remember those who seek healing, that they receive; those who seek love, that they give love; those who seek peace, that they pause and rest. May we all be blessed by the Spirit of the Comforter according to the promise.

St. Theresa’s Prayer

May today there be peace within.

May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.

May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.

May you be content.

Let this presence settle into our bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.

It is there for each and every one of you.

An Irish Blessing

May your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow.  And may trouble avoid you wherever you go.
